My Friend by Judy©2004

Walking along the cliffs watching the ocean,
Feeling the breezes touching my face.
Wondering why I come here, searching for you
Knowing you would not be here yet feeling you all around me.
Wondering why I come here seeking comfort
Knowing you can never be here.
You were my friend and you listened to us all
Gave of yourself never asking for any thing in return.
Yet I would of given you one more day if I could of
Yet knowing that I couldn't change what had to be.
Yet knowing life must go on never forgetting what you taught me.
Knowing the friendship we had was very rare indeed.
Knowing what little time you had.
You made time for all of us, your special friends
Keeping us close and listening
There through all the tears life brought us.
Yet my friend though I think of you often
Life must go on as it has a way of doing.
There comes a time we must move on
Never to forgetting those special friends life bring us
No matter how short the time we have to spend with them.
So in those rare times I will always remember
The special friendship I had with you
Never forgetting the most wonderful thing in life
Is to be a friend to another when they need one
